01 — The problem
A university site that had grown over years, with links scattered across the web. The rebuild had to modernise everything without breaking a single inbound address.
The new official website of Syrian Private University: a bilingual CMS covering admissions, faculties, research, campus life, e-services, news and a virtual tour, with an admin panel and a continuity layer that carries every legacy URL forward.
02 — What I built
- 01
Laravel 12 with a Filament v3 admin panel managing every public section in Arabic and English.
- 02
A legacy URL continuity layer so old addresses resolve to their new homes.
- 03
Tailwind CSS 4, Alpine.js and Vite on the front end, with sanitised rich content.
- 04
Launch gates tracked in a remediation checklist before the switch from v2 to the main domain.

04 — Decisions that matter
Decisions
No broken links, ever
A continuity layer maps the old site’s addresses forward, protecting years of search ranking and shared links.
Portable SQL
Tests run on SQLite and production on MariaDB, so queries stay portable by necessity.
05 — Security & trust
- HTMLPurifier on all rich content.
- Google2FA (TOTP) for administrators.
- Sentry error tracking and APM.
